You begin by running a Java applet that produces a tiny control window where you can specify whether to share the entire display, a program, or a custom made region. It is too bad that participants visit a gray rectangle in the region covered by the control window, but you can move the window around so it doesn’t conceal important info.
If you talk about your entire display, participants may see a navigation bar with info about you based on your settings, the name of your meeting, the dial-in amount, and a chat window (if you have authorized one). You also get a list of participants, also MeetingBurner enables you to make any one of these the presenter–however that person must download and run the screen-sharing applet.
Drawbacks? MeetingBurner’s interface is cluttered and not necessarily intuitive.
More to the point, the free version doesn’t permit you to record the proceedings.
